Over three decades, Marguerite’s Place has journeyed with thousands of families to help them leave behind impossible choices for good and prepare for a stable, safe, and bright future.
Our strategies have produced meaningful results:
We are proud of these successes, but the number of families in need continues to skyrocket and our existing space cannot accommodate them. We will nearly triple our physical footprint and increase critical programming with your support.

Three decades ago, Sister Sharon Walsh and Sister Elaine Fahey came from Philadelphia to southern New Hampshire to establish social services for families experiencing homelessness.
They created Marguerite’s Place, named in honor of St. Marguerite d’Youville, who founded the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart and dedicated her life to supporting the most vulnerable members of her community.
Today, we carry on their legacy as the state’s only organization that provides transitional housing, quality licensed child care, and supportive group programming under one roof.
Your gift to The Place for Possibility campaign will boost transitional housing, increase high-quality child care, and expand life changing community support for thousands of families in southern New Hampshire.
